Summer volunteer opportunities

Help us at Heritage Festival this weekend

UP+DT's Purple City, Pedego Palooza, Symphony Under the Sky

We need volunteers to help monitor the supervised bike parking compounds in Hawrelak Park for a number of events this summer!

No experience or knowledge is needed: on-site training is provided. As a bike monitor, you’ll simply be welcoming people to lock their bikes and answering questions. You can volunteer with a friend, read a book, or just hang out outdoors and relax.

These events are some of our most effective outreach and fundraising events. Many people who arrive to them on bikes are fairly new to cycling. By volunteering, you get to enjoy seeing many new riders who are learning that cycling in the city is fun and rewarding!

Charitable Casino Event

Sunday, Sept 26 & Monday Sept 27

Volunteer here for the biggest impact for your time

No knowledge or experience of casinos, gambling, or bicycles is needed. By volunteering at this event, your 4-8 hour shift is equivalent to a donation of thousands of dollars to Bike Edmonton.

Bike Edmonton uses licensed charitable casino events to raise funds for our activities. Approximately once every 22 months, we provide volunteers to help staff a casino event. Pooled funds from several casinos over several months is shared by charitable organizations: we generally receive over $70,000. Faced with significant financial impacts from the pandemic, this coming casino is critical for Bike Edmonton's financial stability.

Whyte Ave Community League Survey

Summer 2021 survey

Help develop a strong community vision for the future of Whyte Avenue. Community Leagues along Whyte Avenue west of the Mill Creek ravine have partnered to develop a survey to gauge what community members think the future of Whyte Avenue as Main Street could look like. They are working with Paths for People, a non-profit focused on safer, more liveable streets, to develop a strong community front that can influence decisions regarding the future of Edmonton's premiere Main Street.

Fill out the survey by the end of July here.
