The not-for-profit Alberta Bike Swap will be at MacEwan University’s 107 Street parkade this Saturday.

You can sell your bike by consignment by dropping it off between 8am-2pm. No need to stay: swap volunteers handle the rest. Children's bikes are now accepted for sale as well. Volunteer mechanics will ensure it is safe and ready-to-ride. View the swap page for full details.

Or you can buy bikes by between 2:30-4pm!

You can also donate bikes throughout the day. Donations and proceeds from sales in Edmonton, and the $2 admission fee support community organizations including CAN-BIKE, Ever Active Schools, and Bike Edmonton.

Annual National Count of Cycling

June 7-12, 2022

Vélo Canada Bikes, the national voice for everyday cycling, is looking for volunteers to help between June 7-12 in its annual national count of cycling! Volunteers will observe cyclists at key locations using a simple phone app.

Pedal Poll was developed with a team of professionals and academics across Canada, representing a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. Team members are motivated to create a bike-friendly Canada and are committed to making cycling more equitable.

City Updates and Engagement

The Terwillegar Drive Stage 3 survey on the active transportation and transit connections is open until May 17. Stage 3 is located at the Terwillegar Dr / Anthony Henday interchange.
Concept planning has begin for Warehouse Park, a project turning five parking lots between 106-108 St and Jasper Ave-102 Ave into an urban oasis. A survey on options is open until May 22.
Victoria Park Hill Road, Saskatchewan Dr, and 104 St are being converted again to mobility lanes under the new name of Summer Streets.
City council's executive committee decided to rehabilitate the High Level Bridge. This includes the very real potential to develop the High Level Line proposal. Check out a history of similar proposals, going back to the early 90s, from Bike Edmonton.
Construction has begun on the 170 St Pedestrian Bridge to West Edmonton Mall.
Funding has been approved for the Edmonton Strathcona Footbridge in northeast Edmonton. Check out our map of the beautiful routes that connect to the location of the bridge!
After community advocacy from the Oliver Community League, Paths for People, Bike Edmonton, and support from Councillors Stevenson and Kanck, the detour on the 102 Ave bike route at 116 St has been improved and made safe. Read our response to a recent City report that claims that the City's current practices "are sufficient to ensure safety, accessibility and equity for active and public transportation" around construction detours.
E-scooters (and possibly e-bikes) are expected to return to Edmonton later this month.
kihciy askiy, an Indigenous cultural site at Whitemud Park, is planned to open in 2023.
Feedback has closed for the current stage of the 100 St Pedestrian Bridge project, but you can still view the concept options.
