Duties Include:
A Director must:
# Approving EBC's annual budget, and reviewing monthly financial statements with that budget in mind.
# Approve, where appropriate, policy and other recommendations received from the Board, its standing committees, and senior staff.
# Reviewing the bylaws and policies of EBC, and recommending changes where appropriate.
# Monitor all Board policies.
# Approving, when appropriate, policy and other recommendations brought forward by other Directors, Staff members, committees, and members at large.
# Review the bylaws and policy manual, and recommend bylaw changes to the membership.
# Approving the hire and release of the Executive Director, on the recommendation of a Human Resources Committee.
# Review the Board's structure, approve changes, and prepare necessary bylaw amendments.
# Assisting in the development of positive relations among the Board, staff, membership, and the community at large.
# Participate in the development of EBC's organizational plan and annual review.
# Review monthly financial statements and approve EBC's annual budget.
# Approve the hiring and release of the executive director, including the executive director's employment contract, based on the recommendation of the Human Resources Committee.
# Support and participate in evaluating the executive director.
# Assist in developing and maintaining positive relations among the Board, committees, staff members, and community to enhance EBC’s mission. Promote EBC’s mission in the community.
# Revisit the organization’s mission, vision. values and approach, in collaboration with staff, to ensure that they are still relevant and that the organization’s programming is in harmony with its mission.
# Engage in organization-wide evaluations, in collaboration with staff.
# Engage in strategic thinking and planning, in collaboration with staff.
