Keep in mind we must follow the Provincial Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Apparently, they trigger when personal information collected, used or disclosed during a commercial activity. Most of what EBC does is probably not considered commercial activity. The province has an Information Sheet and FAQ on the topic.
