When most people think about volunteering for EBC, they think about working on the shop floor as a mechanic. But EBC does a lot more than just BikeWorks, and we always need volunteers to help. A few opportunities are below, but if there's something that's not on here that you're interested in doing, contact us.
Board Members
EBC had its last Annual General Meeting on October 3, 2012. We'll be electing new board members next AGM in late 2013. If you're interested in setting the direction that we take over the next two years, please let us know. You can view the board member job description, too.
Information Technology Coordinator
EBC maintains several websites, as well as an office computer network. Currently these are maintained by volunteers with a lot of other things on their plate, and are not always the highest priorities. We would very much like to have someone dedicated just to this aspect of the organization. If you know your way around computers, consider putting your name forward.
Community Events
- architect and coordinate novel events
- organize and manage recurring events
- network with other groups to participate in their events
- work with volunteer coordinator to make sure enough (but not too many) volunteers are available for events
- work with Communications Director to make sure events are publicized to the public and to the media
- write reports analyzing events after they have completed
- document procedures to run event
- identify important individuals and contacts (both volunteers and organizers)
- identify strengths and weaknesses in events
- what succeeded
- what didn't work
- how we can improve event in the future
- write up post-event review for inclusion in Newsletter
Volunteer Coordination
- help to recruit and organize volunteers for events
