* Has been with board for 3 AGMs, and has risen to position of President.
* Shout-out to the past president, Jonathan, who still plays an active role, even though he’s been dialing back his involvement on the board.
* New signage for Bike Edmonton is looking great; signifies inclusive approach that we want our bike programs to take.
* Strategic Planning retreat took place last fall, which helped shape where the organization is going.
* Started a community membership for members of Boyle Street Community Services.
* Renewal of BWN lease for another 18 months. Considered doing renovations at BWN, though concerns were raised over lack of funds.
* Assessed BikeWorks Shop fees and decided to increase those to help cover costs.
* Successful bike sale was held in the spring.
* Three components of Bike Edmonton: board, staff, volunteers. None of this runs without volunteers, so volunteer development is something we should focus on as we move forward.

*Community Bike Workshop Update
**Note: Community Bike Workshop is the new name for BikeWorks.
**Focusing on improving programs in different ways.
**Increase in 9% in our membership from last year. Looking at strategies to encourage renewals amongst current 1500-1600 members or lapsed members.
**Shop time revenue decreased last year, though sales increased. How can we expand hours or get people in during different times of year?
**Bike rental program was cancelled this year; the rental bikes were sold off at big bike sale.
**80 active volunteers contributed over 4500 hours this year
*Community Events
**Continued involvement in more and more events (i.e., Edmonton Folk Music Festival)
**Open to doing free lunch and learns, bike tune-ups, bike parking for the community.
*Bike Network Opening
**Last year’s opening of the downtown bike grid was culmination of many advocacy efforts.
**Check out Thrive YEG and share stories of how biking is valuable to you (and why cycling infrastructure would help that more).
**Working with MLAs to get updates to provincial traffic safety act regulations
*[Molly] The Spoke
**This is an earn-a-bike program, but also a confidence-building program.
**Youth meet with volunteers and build up a bike over a 7-week period.
**>75% of youth in the Spoke were youth in need.
*[Molly] Jr. High Program
**Pilot program to teach Jr. High kids mechanics skills.
**This year’s program was a great success, and schools now approach us for having that same program.
**We ask that schools contribute some funding to the program to make the program sustainable for us

*In this fiscal year, strong revenue increases (i.e., spring bike sale)
*Budgeted deficit for this fiscal year
*Renovations were scheduled for 2018 fiscal year, but had to be rescheduled.
*Revenue decreased from 2017-18. Grants not received, YCR2 no longer with Bike Edmonton.
*Expenses also decreased from 2017-18. Found ways to cut costs, and didn’t have YCR2 expenses.
*Proposed Budget
**Proposing a balanced budget for fiscal year 2019 (can’t keep on running deficits year after year)
**Increased shop fees ($2⇒$3 for members, $5⇒$8 for non-members) to help with revenue of shop time. Setting stage for future smaller increases.
**Numerous break-ins to the shop have inflated our costs (higher insurance premiums, and money spent on repairs).
**Question - why is sales revenue projected to increase so much? Answer - Larger inventory storage, better access to the bikes, more traffic in the shop.
