Terms of Reference
General Purpose
- To increase visibility and awareness of EBC and BikeWorks within Edmonton.
- To meet this goal the committee will focus on establishing connections with community organizations and sponsoring, supporting and maintaining a presence at community events, and developing programming.

- Committee with report to Board at monthly meetings
Composition and Appointments
- Membership will include members of the EBC Board and EBC members.
- A Chair or Co-chairs will be selected by EBC Board Members for a one-year term during a Board Meeting. The positions
will be filled on a voluntary basis.
- General EBC members will be notified of this volunteer opportunity by group e-mail and will be asked to commit to a one-year term.

Meetings
- The Committee will meet ever other month during the winter and every month during the summer beginning in March.
- Communication between meetings will occur on a monthly basis or as needed via e-mail or skype.

- None; the Committee may pursue grants as appropriate

Specific Annual Objectives
- In 2010-2011, the Outreach Committee will focus its resources of elementary and high school aged children and their families.
- Ideas for future development
- Drop-in half-day summer camp. The City of Edmonton runs a Green-Shacks Program on a drop-in basis for neighborhood kids (6-12 years of
age). EBC sponsored and run programming could include basic bike mechanics, bike familiarity (bike rodeo and games) and safety.
- Bike Rodeo: half-day event for elementary school age kids
- Bike to School Program: Develop program in coordination with school system to implement a bike to school program for students to run April-June and September and October.
- Family Day: Develop a Family Day at Bikeworks that caters to families (but will be open to the general public as well).
Reports and Target Dates
- Progress will be reported monthly or as needed.
Review and Evaluation Process
- Completed programs will be discussed and evaluated at scheduled committee meetings.
