Bike Repair 201: Derailleurs and Shifting
In this hands-on class we'll review the tools and techniques needed to install, align, and maintain common derailleurs, hangers, derailleur cables and housing. You'll learn about selecting a derailleur that works well with the rest of the drivetrain components. You'll get hands on experience in troubleshooting problems, learning preventative maintenance, and when or when not to adjust limit screws. Bring your own bike to treat it to a shifting tune-up and a new set of cables and housing, or work on one of EBC's bikes.
This is an intermediate course. You don't need to be an expert with tools to get the most from this class, but you should have enough experience to know how to use common bike tools. We recommend you take Bike Repair 101 beforehand, though it's not necessary to get the most out of this workshop.
